  Blondie, Good one. Correct me if I'm wrong on this. According to the Society this Watchtower study is for the anointed only. They apply it to those who are not of the anointed while at the same time using examples of the first century congregation members who were all anointed.

  Now, it's one thing to say the study is for those who support the anointed as members of a local congregation with the earthly hope. However, the rank and file will think that the congregation of God applies to them according to this study article.

  I think that 'captive of a concept' is what captured me and my family. 1969 was the year we were captured. The Truth That leads to Eternal Life, otherwise know as the truth book , the blue bomb, that was used to capture millions of us.

  Learning and believing that God had a Faithful and Discreet Slave, guiding an organization into a New World Order with Eternal Life in view captured the mind heart and soul. Here was relief from all our maladies.

  All you had to do was obey the organization, follow them, trust them and they would lead you through the destruction to soon come upon this earth.

  Soon, near, nearer than you think, 1975 etc. 33 years later, the chains of captivity were broken

  just thinking about the churchhill coverup story.

  seems theres alot of people around claiming to have seen ufo's etc.

  whereas the amount of people claiming to have seen/heard god ....?.

  We can't grasp existence vs. nothingness. I.E. Who or what caused the Universe and who or what caused the causer of the universe and so on.

  If we say God created the universe then we are left with who or how did God come into existence.

  If we say God always existed, then we can also say the universe also always existed, and that there never was a time when there was nothing.

  I don't know the answers to these questions and mankind has had the best of the best of minds puzzled also.

  Finally, those who claim they have had a personal experience, have only just that and each culture has it's own vision contact with it's own perception.

  And so it goes round and round. One thing is for certain, we will all die one day.

  elder school 2011

  we received a letter announcing elder school starting fall 2011, it will be one whole week !!!!!.

  the kms school for 1 1/2 days were already long enough, now 5 long days ?.

  what can possibly be taught in 5 days ?.

  I just finished reading the book,"INVASION WASHINGTON" with photos. UFOs over The Capitol. On a hot summer night fifty years ago,July 1952 was a busy time for sightings of UFOs in the nations Capital.

  However, seeing UFOs does not mean Alien contact. The objects are "Unidentified", whatever they are, it is a phenomena yet to be revealed with clarity.

  Evidence for the existence of God is still on the table for and against.

  Big Bang, singularity, Creator. Take your pick.

  I Am Taking Up Auxilliary Pioneering in September.

  this is gonna be my very first time as a ms.. i'll be on leave for about 3 weeks.. our cong.

  is still up and coming, and there is a need for brothers.

  right now there is only one elder, 2 ms's including me.. elder told me if i work hard enough and display my love for jehovah, then they will make me an acting secretary in no time.so i am working my a*s off to get that "position".. .

  Change in meeting attendance procedure - can't figure out why though

  per a recent letter to elders:.

  beginning september 1, there will be a change to the way attendance is recorded at congregation meetings.. currently, attendance is counted at 4 of the 5 meeting (public talk, wt study, congregation "bible" study, and service meeting).. but after sept. 1, meeting attendance will only be taken at 2 of the meetings - during the "first quarter" of the wt study, and also at the cbs.. .

  no reason in given for the change in the letter, and i can't figure out why myself.. the numbers are not published anywhere - the only "official" record is a 6 month average the co puts together during his visit.. why request less information from the congregations, especially when it "costs" nothing to accumulate it in the first place?

  Without hard facts concerning the actions of the Governing Body, and not being able to figure it out as Sir puts it, it becomes speculation as to their reasons for making this change.

  One thing we all know for sure is that the facts have always shown that the Society likes to embellish the numbers never will they admit that there is an attendance problem. Some times a person might even be counted twice. i.e. coming out of the rest room or library and back rooms.

  Another way in which they count attendance is by counting the empty seats then subtracting from the amount of seats in the hall. As the seats fill up a second count is done.

  Yes it would be something. Btw, Mini, I think its time for me to move on. I joined in 2002 as Blueblades and can't get on this site as Blueblades. I'm using Mall Cop. I e-mailed Simon twice and got no response from him to help me get my Blueblades avatar on this site instead of mall cop.

  When I moved from Brooklyn near the World-Headquarters to Pa. I could not find my old password when I first signed up and asked Simon to look it up so I could move it to this site. No response.

  I very much enjoyed the time spent on the old site and this one with all the old timers and newbie's. I learned so much back in the day on here. But, now all those guys and girls are gone for this or that reason.

  I didn't want to start a new topic saying good-bye. So, because I have had contact with you for so long 2002 till now, I thought it would be do let you know that Blueblades is moving on. I will check in from tme to tme.

  Thanks for all those stimulating questions you asked over the years.

  And Simon thanks for the use of the board, I know that you are very busy with things and your family.

  terry, since you have long proclaimed your inability to comprehend the greatest expression of love in the universe, substitutionary atonement; perhaps this scene from the last of the mohicans will help you to understand.. the chief has just handed down a death sentence to the brunette daughter of the captured english general.

  the english officer in this scene can speak both english and french.

  since daniel day lewis can only speak mohican and english, and the cheif can only speak huron and french, the captured english officer must translate to the chief in french.
